LFDW 2014 Day 4: Ituen Basi

IMG_3500

Hey girls!

So, I have to tell you this…Ituen Basi is such a genius! I mean, I knew she was good but let me just say I was stunned by this collection. The photos do not do justice to the beautiful collection she sent down the runway this season. I was so glad I witnessed the greatness live.

If you haven’t already guessed, I’m totally in love with this collection. This collection is probably the most cohesive collection I have seen this year. It’s so rich in content and you can clearly see that this designer has done her homework. As the models walked down the runway in their geek glasses and quirky smiles, it was obvious this collection was all about fun, fun and more fun. The bright colours, the crop tops, the bustiers, the tea length dresses…it all just made so much sense.

She also didn’t fail to incorporate the Nigerian culture in her line. The influence can be seen in the measuring tape inspired iro and buba, the ‘danfo’ bus inspired separates and the african dancers on the short suits and co. I am beyond impressed and I am only curious to see what more the brand has in store for us.

Peep my favourite pieces below…enjoy!

LFDW 2014 Day 3: Iconic Invanity

IMG_1802

Hey girls!

When it comes to intricate bead work and embroidery, we all know that Iconic Invanity is THAT brand. I love how the brand brilliantly brings a little bit of edge to the runway but still manages to make their designs so womanly. I have always been a fan of the brand and it’s values. Take a look at some of my favourite looks below

Enjoy!…xx
