FBY 101: Honey and Lemon face mask

Hey girls!

It’s beauty time! Today on FBY 101, I’m sharing with you one of homemade face packs that has truly worked for me, I just had to share. You just need two ingredients which almost everyone has lying around in the kitchen, Honey and Lemon. It’s really effective and you can make this mask in just four easy breezy steps. However, before we get into the steps for this mask, let’s go over some benefits of both ingredients.

Honey is generally known as a great weight loss tool but it is also no secret that it also works wonders for the skin. Honey contains antioxidants and vitamins that aid in the quest of a glowing skin. One of the many benefits of using Honey on the skin is the retaining of moisture which helps in keeping the skin hydrated. Honey is also antiseptic and this makes the healing of wounds and acne a forgotten problem. Although, I once heard that honey can’t do much for acne that is caused by irritation or hormones but it will work for acne caused by bacterial infection. With that being said, honey is a great natural skin cleanser and it equally makes a superb moisturiser when used directly on the skin. However, people end to use Honey in different ways, some use it as a scrub and a mask. Others drink it mixed with warm water, ginger and lemon.

Lemon, on the other hand is probably one of the most citrus fruits with the highest amount of vitamin C. It also contains other fruit acids, antioxidant and sugars that are helpful when exfoliating and trying to brighten your skin. The thing is, the juice from lemons contain some unique acids that help to remove dead skin cells which leads o the easier generation of fresh new skin. Lemon also helps to keeps the skin’s elasticity

With all these benefits, not just for the skin but for the nails, hair and general health it’s no wonder we see honey and lemon in a lot of products we use today, Shampoos and conditioners, hair oils, cleansers, masks, scrubs, and even cleaning agents. So it is only right that these two are a perfect match for great skin care. I have been trying this mask for close to two months now and it has produced visible differences in my skin like no other skin product has done. I would recommend to use pure natural honey not the processed one because you want to get the full benefits of this sugar not some filtered stuff.

So are you gased to try this out? Let’s go!

Step one: Take 2 tablespoons of honey and pour in a bowl.

Step two: Slice the lemon in two equal parts.

Step three: We are going to be using one half of the lemon. Squeeze the juice into the honey. You might want to pick out the seeds before you do this or squeeze through a strainer.

Step four: In the first picture, it is clear that the lemon juice is separated from the honey. Now stir the mixture till everything is blended evenly and Voila! You have your honey and lemon mask. Piece of cake, yeah?

About the application, I first of all wash my face with water before I apply this. I then spread this mixture all over my neck and face avoiding sensitive areas like my eyes. Be careful not to apply too much on your face just because honey doesn’t dry and you don’t want this mixture dripping everywhere. I leave the mask on for about 20 – 30 mins. I then wash it off with warm water and pat my face dry. I do this every day in the morning or in the evening.

Let me know if you girl’s found this helpful! I have more and more great tips and tutorials coming on the blog so watch this space!

Have a great weekend fabs!…xxx

I tried to make it as easy as possible by capturing each and every one of my movements. I hope you all enjoy this post and I would love some feedback on how you did. So, let’s get started!

Step one: Hold both sides of the wrapper and make sure they are of equal length.

Step two: Take those two ends and twist them in a 360 degree motion.
