Trend Alert: Fluted Hem

Hey fabs!

You know what we say about trends…they just keep on coming! This week, the fashion trend I’m feeling is the fit and flare trend popularly known as fluted hems. The first time I spotted this trend was on the Balmain spring 2014 runway. It came in feminine colors like baby pink and blue…I thought it was gorgeous! Clearly, I was right because this trend is taking over the streets in forms of dresses and skirts!

The fluted hem is kind of like a pencil skirt but it has a fluted hem. Think of it as another version of the peplum trend…get it? It has a very flattering and feminine silhouette. The trend can be dressed down when wearing a fluted hem skirt with a tank top and it can be equally dressed up with the right pair of killer heels. Another way to really kill this trend is add a belt  to your look. This helps to fully accentuate your hips. Call it FBY 101…Lol! Check out some of my fabs who have slayed this trend…Enjoy!

IamISIGO S/S 2014 – Blood and Bones

Hey Lovers!

In the world of fashion and design, it isn’t new for designers to be inspired by the human anatomy. Falling in line is Bubu Ogisi of IamISIGO with her spring/summer 2014 collection. Titled ‘Blood and bones’, the concept behind the collection was birthed from the designer’s pregnancy experience i.e the changes her body was going through. ” While I was pregnant, my body went through so many changes. My “blood” and my “bones” were creating another being, my son. My body inspired me to create a collection that reflects my innermost workings.”

Of course you know I only blog about things I love so I don’t think I need to tell you how I feel! I love the two colors used in  the entire collection and I see myself wearing so many pieces here so watch out! Lol! Here are my favorite looks from her collection. Check the full images on
